Ego | Positive & Negative Control

Do you know someone who needs help with ego and self control? What makes people tick? What makes us who we are?  It can be proven that we are products of our environment. It can be proven that our traits can come from our DNA. None of that matters. The simple truth is that we are exactly who we choose to be. We choose to reflect our best or worst experiences. We choose to effect positive or negative manipulation on others with our ego.

Are you interested in the development of the ego & ego psychology? Here's the simple version. Being responsible for your self and your actions develops positive ego. Not being responsible for yourself and your actions develops negative ego. If you are angry, you chose to be angry. If you are content, you chose to be content. If you are controlling, you chose to be controlling. If you are stagnant, you chose to be stagnant. Life should be about honest values, and it should be lived by those values. Right? A negative ego will tell you differently. A positive ego will agree. Which one you are, is completely up to you.

The heart and body never lie. The mind, however, will distort the simplest truth.

Your heart will tell you: If you are sad, allow your Self to be and feel sad. Your mind and negative ego will tell you: If you are sad, someone made you sad. And you are stagnant because life is so unfair. Negative ego is a conditioned, easy response that takes neither discipline nor responsibility.

Learning to control negative ego can bring you happiness, contentment, success ... relief. All manner of great feelings. What is negative ego? It is the voice in your mind that counteracts your intuition. It is your sense of Self, your feelings of worth. It is everything that takes life personally. It is your control freak. Negative ego is your need to voice opinions, comments, and judgments without being asked. It is your need for revenge or pity. It is your indignity in the face of embarrassment.

Positive ego is your strength to withstand, conquer, and overcome. It is your ability to reason, offer compassion, and be a better being. Positive ego is the uniqueness you offer this world.

Taking control of our ego development is no small undertaking. People like to guide and affect other people, and human beings are easily manipulated. Where do you begin when negativity permeates every breath you take? Well, for starters, slow down and take time before each habitual action and reaction. Consider your opinions before you voice them. Are they positive or negative, productive or destructive? Are they even necessary? If not, why waste the energy on them? Learn to channel your ego's opinion maker into a consideration maker.

Why do we feel the need to prove ourselves right?

Wouldn't it be easier to simply allow ourselves our own opinion, and allow others theirs?

Reasons to buy books on Ego:
You often find yourself blaming people around you for your bad moods and inability to do what you want.

Reasons not to buy books on Ego:
You do not hear a voice in your head telling you how "right" you are, and how "wrong" they are.

Don't shake your head yet! Because, no, this isn't another pitch about the law of attraction, though I do believe in and utilize that as much as I'm humanly able. No, this is a thought process in awareness; one that identifies one of the many facts of life.
