Sneak Peek into Awareness ...
A lot of people might think they’ve got this one in the bag, but hang on. They think they’re aware of what’s going on around them and around the world. They watch the news, they overhear conversations, they make simple deductions from things they see first or secondhand … We all know a whole lot about what’s going on all over the world, but it’s all presented to us from someone else’s point of view. And how many people do you know personally who infallibly share your point of view on everything? So, why do so many people think it’s okay to take all that secondhand information at face value and start arguing their take on situations they really know nothing about? Because it’s easier to take on someone else’s problems than it is to take on our own.
Sneak Peek into Balance ...
I hear this one all the time, “keep it simple.”
What does simple mean? It means: straightforward, trouble-free, undemanding, effortless.
That’s how I want my life.
Sounds smart and easy enough, yet I, and millions of others, are incapable of carrying it out on a regular, consistent basis. Every five minutes or so we find ourselves lost in the deluge of details that the world is seemingly throwing at us. We can’t keep it simple because the world isn’t simple.
Stop and think about what world. Our human world, right? And? … Humans are the only living entities who clutter up their world with details.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve deduced that it’s in our heads. We’ve been trained to follow the rules, the protocol, the acceptable norm, the standardized solution, formula, format, … in other words, unless we’re lucky enough to get paid for new ideas, our simplicity - our natural creativity - is effectively snuffed out of us (usually at an early age), and doesn’t often come back. It’s not okay to be different. It’s not. Or is it?
Sneak Peek into Choices ...
Be honest and think about it. You decide to take a shortcut and wind up with your nose buried in trouble … whether you’re in your car, take a wrong turn and end up in the ditch; you’re avoiding your spouse, miss a call for help, and wind up guilty of not being there; or you try to short-circuit the proper protocol at work and get censured, demoted, or fired, it doesn’t matter the circumstances. There are no excuses, you made the choice that put you where you’re at.
Sneak Peek into Ego ...
Really, how often have you successfully changed the person’s mind with whom you were feverishly arguing. Married couples can really clue in. Did you really change their mind or was it a stalemate? Or, worse yet, did one party simply browbeat the other party into submission and the second party let themselves be browbeaten just so the first party would shut up?
Sneak Peek into All Things...
Now, you have to admit life would be pretty pointless and boring if we had figured it out, so why in the world do we keep trying? Because we’re stubborn, and we’re not the brightest stars on the map. Seems to me, most of the human race blows off the “turn right, here” sign each and almost every time it comes up.
Granted, how could we see it these days with coffee and the steering wheel in one hand , the cell phone and the stick shift in the other, changing the radio station, changing lanes, cursing the driver in front of us for going too slow, the one behind us for riding our bumper, and the rest of the world for not giving us a sure sign of what we’re supposed to be doing.
