How do you keep life in perspective?
Put your mind in its place, behind your heart. Know when to change. Acknowledge your mistakes. Stay in the moment. Learn from every experience, it will make your life happier, healthier, richer.
If you think you need professional help because your life is such a mess, take a good look around you first. Be alone with your Self. Get your Self feeling and thinking. Give your Self a chance. Finding answers and implementing change takes time, committment, and patience. Forget what you've been told and what you've been telling your Self. Don't tell your Self how you're supposed to be. Just be. 
Nature gave us the intuitive ability to take care of ourselves. Most of us set it aside in the face of dealing with our own little worlds. Humans tend to think they're smarter than nature and can do better on their own. Hint: We're wrong. Use the resources that are around you every day. Actively map out a plan of action to change what you don't like about your life and your Self.
And start with the little stuff first; e.g., how you react, how you voice opinions, how you perceive things. Those things make the biggest differences. Make yourself slow down and see it all with an open, neutral perspective.
There is a world of information available to guide you into trusting your inner Self by opening your mind and paying attention to the energy you give out, the energy you take in, and the choices you make every moment of every day. And remember you don't have to do it all alone. It's been done before and done very well. Take the time to find your best answers. You deserve it.
